WHAT IS THIS?
A collection of ideas we've had for products, web toys, and other experiments.
WHY DON'T YOU BUILD THEM YOURSELF?
We are, actually! If an idea is "taken," it means we're partnering with someone to build it.
AREN'T YOU AFRAID SOMEONE WILL STEAL THESE?
Here's a thought experiment someone once told us about: If you're afraid someone will steal your best idea, take your second-best idea and try to convince someone to steal it. Good luck.
SO I CAN JUST TAKE AN IDEA?
I mean, we'd love to build it with you… but, yeah, if you really want to hoard, no hard feelings.
HOW CAN I BUILD WITH YOU?
GreenTape.us
WHAT
Federal government agencies are required to publicly advertise all contracts over $25K. But the web platform they use to do it is hard to use, and the requisitions themselves are hard to understand.
GreenTape.us is a simple web app that lets small businesses easily search through government RFPs to find opportunities that fit their business.
PS: We've built this: GreenTape.us
OPEN QUESTIONS
Which sectors do we optimize for? (Construction, catering, cleaning, etc.)
TAKEN?
Yes
IsThisSad.com
WHAT
Sometimes, you just don't want to watch something sad. But "sad" can mean different things to different people. Maybe you'd prefer to skip movies where a character gets really sick. Or maybe a break-up plot hits too close to home.
IsThisSad.com is a simple web app that lets you input the name of a movie to find out whether it's sad or not. It comes with some sadness dimensions out-of-the-box ("break-up", "severe illness", etc.), but it also allows you to input your own definition of "sad."
OPEN QUESTIONS
Is a web app the best form factor? Where do people discover new movies and TV shows?
TAKEN?
Yes
Timeline Maker
WHAT
Someone told us that lawyers and paralegals spend a wild amount of time combing through documents to assemble timelines. It makes sense—if you're litigating a case, you need to know what happened when.
LLMs aren't very good at very many things, but they are very good at reading and entity extraction. So let's build a simple app that can ingest hundreds of pages of documents and use LLMs to extract the information needed to assemble a timeline.

No
Recipe Scaler
WHAT
Scaling a recipe (doubling, halving) is more complex than simply multiplying all ingredient amounts by 2 or 0.5. You may need different cooking implements, like a larger pan, and cooking times may be different.
Recipe Scaler makes that easier. Just paste a URL, or upload a screenshot, and Recipe Scaler will help you convert all ingredients, equipment, and cooking times.
